THE OPPORTUNITY

We are in need of a Residential Layout Specialist who wants to learn, grow their career and be part of the Rusin Team! This is a critical role in the responsibility for overall timely foundation placement and measurement accuracy using a Trimble Total Station.


WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• Performing layout for structural and foundation operations using Robotic Total Station equipment to verify measurements, elevations and ensure accurate placement of all elements of the project.

• Understanding the project scope as it relates to the designated task.

• Identifying discrepancies with excavations and elevations prior to laying out and communicating the information timely.

• Supporting new-build preconstruction tasks such as: CAD file preparation and file verification process, proper plans on site and hands on field communications.

• Communicating all details for every layout using appropriate software and checklists.

• Assuring plans are on every job site for crews prior to their arrival.

• Providing excellent customer service to both external (builders/homeowners and excavators) and internal (foremen and crews) customers; understanding their needs and problem solving; communicating to supervisor and office as needed.

• Assisting crews with the construction process as needed.

• Maintaining and securing all equipment.

• Being the back-up to other layout specialists as necessary.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO OUR ORGANIZATION

• Valid driver’s license as well as maintaining a clean driving record that is acceptable to qualify for insurance coverage as required by Rusin’s insurance provider.

• Extensive construction layout experience OR 2-year vocational degree for Survey Technician.

• Ability to read and interpret construction documents and plans.

• Ability to take direction from supervisors.

• Ability to problems solve and/or ask for help or direction.

• Ability to adapt to an evolving and changing environment “on the fly”.


WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This job may require periodic Saturday work, overtime, and extended hours. Work may be performed in hot or cold work environments and mainly performed outdoors. There will be occasional periods of indoor “desk” work requiring sitting for extended periods of time and working from a monitor. The job requires physical ability to move and set up equipment, sitting for extended periods of time, lifting to 50 lbs.
